Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil

McAllen, TX | up to $110k + truck allowance, 401k, and bonus

A self-performing heavy civil contractor is looking to add a Project Engineer (or APM, depending on experience) to support a mix of ongoing and upcoming highway projects in the Rio Grande Valley.

This is a boots-on-the-ground role with a team that handles everything in-house, from dirt, utilities to paving.

The Work

• Support daily project operations: scheduling, tracking quantities, managing crews
• Coordinate with field, subs, and suppliers
• Assist with cost reporting, RFI/submittal management, and material tracking
• Help drive schedule and ensure work stays within scope
• Learn directly under an experienced PM with a clear path to step up

What You Need

• 2–6 years of experience in heavy civil construction
• Background in DOT, municipal, or site development work preferred
• Comfortable working in the field and managing production
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with standard construction management tools
